Brief about Ghatasthapana:
on the occasion of Ghatasthapna, to welcome Goddess Durga Mata Kalash Sthapan is done and the first day of Navratri is also known as "Pratipada".
This Navratri is known as Shardiya Navratri as it occurs on the Sharad autumn season.
Gahtasthapna is the beginning of nine days Navaratri on this day Durga puja is done.
Muhurat for Ghatasthapna:
Day: Saturday
Date: 17- October-2020
Muhurat: 6:23AM to 10:12 AM
Things needed for Ghatasthapana :
* A Clay pot with soil and seven types of grains also known as "Sapta Dhanya"
* Steel or brass pitcher (Kalash)
* Clean drinking water
* Red Thread
* Betel nuts
* Indian Ruppe Coins or Gold Coins for a pitcher
* Small branch of Mango tree and five leaves
* Small bowl with Rice grains
* A coconut
* Flowers and Durva
What is done on Ghatasthapana day :
* seven kinds of grains spread into a wet clay pot
* Brass pitcher is kept on clay pot
* piece of red thread is tied around the neck of Kalash and filled with water
* the betel nut, flowers, Durva and Coin are put in Kalash Along with mango leaves
* A coconut is placed on Mango leaves in the Kalash
* Now the preparations are complete for welcoming Goddess Durga
Color for Ghatasthapana is Grey color
